Associate Dentist

Treatment:
- Primarily responsible for patients’ clinical care, including delivering treatment based on diagnosis to achieve optimal patient care
- Fully diagnose and communicate treatment options to patients
- Ensure diagnosis and treatment planning occurs at the highest level and is documented in records

Patient Relationships:
- Welcomes patients politely and by name

- Advocating receipt of new patients to the practice through referrals and marketing initiatives

Hygienist

Key Competencies
Treatment:
- Appropriately assesses, plans, implements and evaluates services for patient care
- Performs all aspects of clinical preventative hygiene services including scaling, root planning, polishing, topical fluoride, pit and fissure sealants and whitening to patients
- Serve as an oral health educator by introducing new preventative techniques and counselling
- Serve as health promoters enabling people to increase control over their oral health
- Conduct dental radiographs for the purpose of dental hygiene diagnosis
- Identify potential oral health opportunities and provide appropriate clinical feedback for dentist
- Gathers and reviews patient charts at each patient visit, updating any necessary information
- Maintains practice equipment and instruments, cleans hygiene room daily
- Applies principles of infection control and ensures safe working conditions

- Providing consistent patient experience during hygiene visit
- Establishes strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour

Dental Assistant

Key Competencies
Treatment:
- All clinical chairside assisting duties including correct usage of suction, passing instruments and materials mixing techniques, and knowledge of instrumentation
- Taking impressions, polishing, placement and removal of rubber dams, application of topical materials, pit and fissure sealants and other clinical duties
- Possesses knowledge and skills in advanced chairside assisting such as implants, oral surgery
- Takes, develops, mounts, labels and files patients’ x-rays adequately and accurately
- Serve as an infection control officer, prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
Patient Relationships:
- Establishes strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
- Deliver optima l levels of continuity between patient and service provider
- Anticipates patient needs through chart review and observation, making patients feel comfortable

Dental Administrator

Front Office:
- Be the first and last positive impression for the patient
- Ensure that each patient visit runs as smoothly as possible, and patient leaves treatment room ready for payment with their next appointment in hand
- Responsible for optimizing the appointment schedule by ensuring the day is full, with limited gaps
- Manages patient calls and inquiries with a smile about appointments, confirmations and amendments
- Manages potential cancellations and overcomes objections to motivate patient to keep appointment
- Bill patients as they come out of the treatment room, take payment, send claim form to insurance, respond to all fee inquiries in a positive manner
- Effectively manage recall system and accurately maintain patient database
- Process referral letters and other patient correspondence upon receipt from provider
- Manage and file all patient records and charts
- Accurately coordinates lab cases
- Keep reception and waiting room tidy and reading materials are neat and up to date
