Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate. Without proper care, these children often struggle to eat, speak or breathe — and in many places, they face rejection, isolation and even abandonment. An estimated 5 million people around the globe are living with untreated cleft conditions. And that’s far too many.
That is why Dr. Bill Magee and Kathy Magee founded Operation Smile in 1982, committed to providing safe and free access to cleft surgery and care to those who need it most.
Our Founder and CEO, Dr. Azim Parekh, has been passionate about helping patient and making them smile a little bit more since the beginning. With Operation Smile, we share the same vision and mission of taking care of patients and making a positive impact on their lives.
